Albuquerque’s first ephemeral pigment piece, Malibu Line, was a simple mark on the land that connected the viewer to the earth and to the horizon. By virtue of a slight optical illusion, the work both spatially and symbolically linked land to sky, and sky to the watery horizon beyond.
